Salvation Army of Metro Detroit seeks volunteer bell ringers
The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit kicked off its 2022 Red Kettle Campaign and seeks volunteers for bell ringing shifts.
The nonprofit has set an $8.2 million fundraising goal for this year and seeks volunteers for bell ringing shifts through Saturday, Dec. 24, excluding Thanksgiving and Sundays, according to a press release.
Individuals can visit registertoring.com to sign up for the shift that works best for their schedule.
People can also donate in the following ways

• Donating money via an online kettle, Paypal, Venmo or physical red kettle
• Donating cryptocurrency
• Volunteering as a virtual or in-person bell ringer at registertoring. com

• Calling 877-SAL-MICH The Red Kettle Christmas Campaign helps The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit provide social services and programs to individuals and families in need in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.
Applications for Christmas assistance are being accepted from residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties at all metro Detroit Salvation Army corps community centers. Families with children up to age 14 may apply to receive Christmas assistance with toys and holiday meals. Senior citizens will receive grocery store gift cards. Beaumont Children’s announces ways to shop and support pediatric patients
Beaumont Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, announced the following opportunities to shop and support pediatric patients at Beaumont Children’s. All donations made to Children’s Miracle Network locally are used to provide life-saving equipment and programs at Beaumont Children’s:
• Lego Minifigure sets at Great Lakes Ace Stores: Through Dec. 5, Great Lakes Ace stores throughout southeast Michigan will donate $1 to CMN for every Lego Minifigure set sold.
• Rite Aid Point of Sale Campaign: Through Nov. 29, Rite Aid will award BonusCash to loyalty members who donate $1 or more to CMN at the register. Terms: Maximum amount of BonusCash that can be earned throughout the offer valid period is $10. An active Rite Aid Rewards account is required to receive and redeem any BonusCash awards from this program.
• Valvoline Instant Oil Change Miracle Balloon Campaign: Through Nov. 30, Valvoline Instant Oil Change locations are offering customers an opportunity to make a donation to Children’s Miracle Network and be recognized by writing their name on a CMN Miracle Balloon within the facility.
• Ace Hardware Holiday Round Up Campaign: Through Dec. 31, participating Ace Hardware locations will ask shoppers to round up their purchase to the next dollar for Ace’s “Holiday Round Up.”
• 7-Eleven Holiday Campaign: Through Jan. 10, customers of all 164 participating 7-Eleven locations in SE Michigan will have the option to donate at the register to help support programs of Beaumont Children’s.
• DiBella’s Subs Campaigns: From Nov. 28- Dec. 31, DiBella’s Subs, with six locations in southeast Michigan, will ask customers to round up their purchase to the next dollar. The sub shop will also participate in Cups for a Cause, with $.50 of every soft drink purchase going to support kids at Beaumont Children’s.
• Speedway Giving Tuesday: On Nov. 29, the 115 Speedway locations throughout Southeast Michigan will offer customers the option to donate at the register to help support kids treated at Beaumont Children’s.
• World’s Famous Chocolate Bars at Ace Hardware stores are available for $1 — and 48 cents from each bar goes directly to CMN.
