Two iPhones were stolen in two separate recent thefts at L.A. Fitness, 25352 Woodward Avenue. The owners were each playing basketball when their phones were taken. Police said the most recent theft happened after a Warren man, 19, set his phone down next to his gym bag near the court Nov. 11. He noticed it missing 20 minutes later. The teen eventually was able to ping the stolen phone and discovered it was at another L.A. Fitness club at 12 Mile and Mound roads in Warren. Police said he was able to recover the iPhone, worth an estimated $1,500. A similar theft happened three days earlier. Someone took an iPhone that a Detroit man, 32, put in his shoe next to the basketball court. Surveillance video showed an unidentified male near the area, but did not show him stealing the iPhone, police said.
