No coffee leads to fight at 7-Eleven store

A Royal Oak man faces misdemeano­r assault and battery charges after police say he fought with a female clerk at a 7-Eleven store because there was no coffee available.

A witness called police to the store at 13 Mile and Main Street about 5 p.m. Dec. 4.

The man, 57, and the woman had a disagreeme­nt over the lack of coffee.

Police said there was pushing involved over the lack of java.

The witness told police there was fighting because there was no coffee and the clerk told the man she was unable to immediatel­y make new pots of coffee.
