They say to never judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to evaluating a business by its website content, Green Mountain Builders owner Tony Persichilli encourages people to do just that. “My goal is not necessarily to generate leads,” Persichilli says of his company’s recent web renovations, which include a photo gallery of new home and remodeling projects, as well as testimonials and blog posts written by the owner himself.

“Ninety-five percent of my business is referral based, but it helps to pre-sell. [Potential customers] will go on my website and it tells them who I am and establishes first contact. They become very familiar with me and our level of quality,” says the building contractor.

Site visitors can learn about the varied projects Green Mountain Builders has embarked on since it began as a remodeling company in 2007. The business also specializes in other large-scale projects such as estate building both indoors and out, and smaller services like pressure washing and painting.

But perhaps most importantly, prospective clients can also get to know the family-owned company on a friendlier basis, through a featured background of the team and a bio of Persichilli.

“It’s a positioning to give [clients] a good feeling of who we are and our level of quality,” says Persichilli. That way, he adds, when he meets a customer face to face, it will feel a bit more familiar than a first-time introduction.
