Doing something good in and for our community never remains unnoticed. Making a difference is an overall rewarding experience, and it could mean even more when it’s recognized by a larger audience. At the annual Celebration of Business & Tourism Awards Luncheon and Trade Show, the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau presented its longstanding annual Junonia Award to Matlacha artist Leoma Lovegrove for her dedicated work that has been a key instrument in the county’s tourism community. Lovegrove is known worldwide for her bold depictions of flora and fauna in a rainbow of bright Florida hues. No visitor leaves Matlacha without a stop at her funky gallery. The Junonia Award was created in 2006 to recognize individuals who demonstrate leadership and dedication throughout the local tourism industry. leomalovegrove.com
