DOMETIC – CFX 95DZW PORTABLE REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER

For many years, Dometic has offered a wide range of portable refrigerators, but the Dometic CFX 95DZW is notable for having many more features than its predecessors. While described as a portable unit, it is not one you pick up, put under your arm and walk away with, even more so if it is loaded. However, with its 3ft3 capacity, and measuring 37.6in wide by 20.8in deep and 18.5in high, it offers some serious capacity. Perhaps its most logical application would be as a self-contained refrigeration system for a modest- sized cruising boat in the sub-30ft range. Its dual compartments are separately controlled, so one option would be to utilize one as a freezer and the other as a refrigerator. With separate lids, each section can also be accessed without compromising the temperature of the other. Each compartment can be set at temps as low as -7 degrees Fahrenheit, and for those who feel the need to do so, temperature control and monitoring is possible using optional Android and iOS apps. Beyond that, there is an alarm to alert you if the temperature ever goes above the desired setting, and accessibility is enhanced through the inclusion of a set of lift-out wire baskets and interior lighting. One can envision taking the baskets home after a weekend afloat and returning to the boat later with them loaded in soft coolers.
