In Search of Wind

This photo, which took first overall in the 2018 Mirabaud competition, was taken by Ricardo Pinto during SHK Scallywag’s arrival in Lisbon at the end of Leg 1 of the Volvo Ocean Race. The bowman, Ben Piggott, was up the mast looking for more pressure coming up the Tagus river. The crew could see AkzoNobel completely stopped just ahead. Pinto waited until the last second before the sun set and says, “The seagull and Ben completed the scene, have to thank both!” Photo taken using a Nikon D5 with a 500mm lens
