MORE THAN EYE CANDY
SAIL has triumphed in replacing the vapid foredeck-posing representation of “women in sail” with good stories by and about female sailors and unpretentious photography of women sailing. Along with the articles and notes on important seamanship, this tilt of media culture makes me feel more ready to snuggle into the recesses of my bilge (which I had to brighten up with yellow paint) and get the nasty job of wrestling the new fuel tank, hoses and throughhull into place done. If I’m successful, I might even reward myself with some treats from your advertisers. Thank you!
