The San Antonio Police Department and Oak Farms Dairy would like to “Salute” Officer Kevin Schmachtenberger.

Officer Schmachtenberger is a 7 year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department and is currently assigned to the “T” Shift on Northwest Patrol.

While on patrol, Officer Schmachtenberger observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot. He noted the vehicle matched a description of a suspicious vehicle involved in car burglaries in the area of a local shopping center. Officer Schmachtenberger further observed the passenger of the suspicious vehicle appeared to be in the act of burglarizing another vehicle in the parking lot. Officer Schmachtenberger attempted to contact the passenger. The suspect vehicle operator immediately backed out of the parking space and fled. Officer Schmachtenberger detained the passenger and alerted officers in the area to be on the lookout for the suspect vehicle. The passenger was booked for “Felony Burglary of Vehicle.”

Officer Kevin Schmachtenberger is commended for his alertness and sound use of tactics in apprehending a suspect in the act of committing a vehicle burglary. His demonstrated skill and professionalism are truly commendable and worthy of this “Salute”. The San Antonio Police Department and Oak

Farms Dairy congratulates Officer Kevin Schmachtenberger and honors him with the “Salute” for June 2018.
