Third set of re­mains found from Llano flood

Kim­ble County of­fi­cials re­ported that a third set of re­mains was found Satur­day night from the heavy rains Mon­day that trans­formed the Llano River into a lethal flood.

The re­mains were dis­cov­ered around 6:20 p.m. near Yates Cross­ing in Junc­tion. The fam­ily has been no­ti­fied, and the Texas A&M For­est Ser­vice de­clined to pro­vide fur­ther de­tails..

Search op­er­a­tions had re­sumed Satur­day morn­ing for the two peo­ple still miss­ing from heavy flood­ing of the river in Junc­tion. Ap­prox­i­mately 40 per­sons were en­gaged in the op­er­a­tions, in­clud­ing divers and wa­ter­res­cue craft. Also on the scene were nine emer­gency ser­vice ca­nine teams and all-ter­rain ve­hi­cles, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease.

“Kim­ble County and the city of Junc­tion will be us­ing lo­cal re­sources to con­tinue re­cov­ery op­er­a­tions,” said Randy Mil­li­can, in­ci­dent com­man­der, Kim­ble County In­ci­dent Re­sponse.
