Live Oak resident wins big at casino

Seven others have nabbed jackpots of more than $1 million

A Live Oak resident is nearly $1.5 million richer this weekend after hitting the jackpot at Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino.

The winner, whose name has not been released, was playing on a Michael Jackson Machine at the casino in Eagle Pass.

The winner “hit the jackpot of $1,493,619.22,” around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after about an hour of playing, the casino said in a press release.

“There is nothing like the excitement when someone strikes it big here,” Assistant General Manager Lorenzo Suke said.

The winner has played at the casino for six years, and is a member of the Players Club, according to the release.

Seven others have won more than a million at Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino since 2011, according to the casino’s website. In April 2018, a Kerrville resident won almost $1.1 million on the AGS Gold Bullion machine, and in December 2017, an Eagle Pass local won more than $1.5 million on the Bally’s Million Degrees Progressive machine.
