Rockets fall again to an old nemesis

Judson refuses to blame controvers­ial call for latest playoff loss to Lake Travis

It will be remembered forever in Judson football lore.

Whether DeMarvin Leal’s apparent strip sack that was ruled an incomplete pass would have changed the outcome of the Rockets’ 38-21 loss to Austin Lake Travis in a Class 6A Division I state quarterfin­al Saturday is up for debate.

What’s not in dispute is that the play was one of several things that worked against the Rockets.

“It didn’t come down to one play,” Judson coach Sean McAuliffe said. “Hats off to (Lake Travis). They played the better ballgame today, and they deserve all the credit. I’m proud of our kids. We fought our tails off, and we just came up short.”
