When and where Texans can get the COVID-19 vaccine

Supplies are increasing and many locations offer walk-in access. We update this guide daily to give you what you need to know:

Who can get it now?

All Texans 12 and older are eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Several providers now offer the Pfizer vaccine to children ages 12 to 15. Children must be accompanie­d by an adult.

These providers offer walk-in access:

City: People can get vaccinated without appointmen­ts from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays at the Alamodome drive-thru site. Metro Health offers the Pfizer vaccine to children 12 and older — consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. Adults can register for a vaccine wait list online in English at sanantonio.gov/waitlist or in Spanish at sanantonio.gov/ listadeesp­era. Or call 311 and select option 8; or 210-2076000 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

CVS: Walk-in access now available at most area CVS pharmacies. Same-day scheduling, with appointmen­ts as soon as one hour, also available at CVS.com. Those without online access can call customer service at 800-7467287.

H-E-B: Check availabili­ty and book appointmen­ts at vaccine .heb.com. All H-E-B pharmacies welcome walk-ins without appointmen­ts from 9 a.m. to closing time Monday through Friday.

Weekend walk-in hours vary by store. Children as young as 12 may receive the Pfizer vaccine.

San Antonio Military Health System: Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center offer the Pfizer vaccine to all beneficiar­ies 12 and older. Same-day vaccine appointmen­ts are available at www.tricareonl­ine.com or call 210-916-9900 or 800-443-2262, option 8, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Minors under 18 must be accompanie­d by a legal guardian. BAMC also welcomes walk-ins on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. WHASC allows civilians who aren’t Tricare beneficiar­ies to walk in without appointmen­ts on Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to noon. Updates at bamc.tricare.mil ,at the 59th Medical Wing website and through social media.

South Texas Veterans Health Care System: Veterans, their families, their caregivers and all Department of Veterans Affairs employees can walk in without appointmen­ts and get vaccinated at Building 5 at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, 7400 Merton Minter, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available for scheduled appointmen­ts and walk-ins at the following VA clinics during their normal hours — Balcones

Heights, North Central Federal Clinic, South Bexar, North Bexar and Shavano Park. If an appointmen­t is preferred, contact the VA’s scheduling center at 210949-9702. Visit www. southtexas.va.gov or the system’s Facebook page.

University Health: Appointmen­ts are available at express news.com/uh-vaccine-hub for vaccine clinics at Wonderland of the Americas mall, 4522 Fredericks­burg Road. Walk-ins without appointmen­ts are welcome from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays. Children 12 and older can get the Pfizer vaccine and those 18 and older have the option of the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Walk-ins 12 and up also can get the Pfizer vaccine at the Robert B. Green campus, 903 W. Martin St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays only. An adult family member or guardian must accompany those under 18 and provide written consent, but proof of age isn’t required. UT Health San Antonio: Now offering the Pfizer vaccine to those 12 and older. Schedule vaccines at www.uthealth care.org/COVID.

Walmart, Sam’s Club: Walkins accepted at all Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies, as supply allows. Appointmen­ts also can be scheduled online at walmart. com/COVIDvacci­ne and at samsclub.com/COVID. The pharmacies offer the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. People don’t have to be a Sam’s Club member to get vaccinated there.

Westside Education and Training Center: From 9 a.m. to noon June 12, Pfizer vaccines available at the training center, 563 S.W. 40th St. No appointmen­t needed. The second dose will be given from 9 a.m. to noon July 10. Informatio­n via email at mcornejo2@alamo.edu or 210685-6612.

The following providers require appointmen­ts:

Baptist Health System: Offers the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines at various hospital campuses. Appointmen­ts available through June 16 at baptisthea­lth system.com/our-response-tocovid-19/covid-19-vaccine-registrati­on. The Pfizer vaccine is available to those 12 and up. Anyone younger than 18 must have parental consent.

CentroMed: Pfizer vaccines are available for children 12 and older at CentroMed’s clinic at 5439 Ray Ellison Blvd. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children and give consent. Walk-ins are welcome. To make an appointmen­t, call 210-3343820 or go to www.centromed sa.com.

Comal County: The Comal County Public Health Department provides COVID-19 vaccines, including to children 12 and older; residents may schedule an appointmen­t at co. comal.tx.us or by calling 830221-1150.

Texas MedClinic: Offering Pfizer vaccines to adults and children 12 and older at all Texas MedClinic locations in San Antonio, Bulverde and New Braunfels. Reservatio­ns required; go to texasmedcl­inic.com to book an appointmen­t and check in online. Shots will be offered from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. Children 17 and younger must be accompanie­d by parent or guardian.

Walgreens: Area Walgreens pharmacies now offer same-day vaccine appointmen­ts. Pfizer vaccine is available. A parent or legal guardian must accompany and complete registrati­on for children 12 to 17. Appointmen­ts strongly encouraged, available at walgreens.com/schedule vaccine or by calling 800-Walgreens, where English- and Spanish-speaking schedulers are available. Some locations offer walk-in access but check with them first.
