When and where Texans can get the COVID-19 vaccine
These providers offer walk-in access:
City: People can get vaccinated without appointments from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays at the Alamodome drivethru site. Metro Health offers the Pfizer vaccine to children 12 and older — consent from a parent or legal guardian is required. Adults can register for a vaccine wait list online in English at sanantonio .gov/waitlist or in Spanish at sanantonio.gov/listadeespera. Or call 311 and select option 8; or 210-207-6000 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Metro Health is running “popup” sites today: 8-11 a.m., Shrine of St. Padre Pio, 3843 Bulverde Parkway ( J&J); 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., St. Rose of Lima, 9883 Marbach Road (Pfizer).
CentroMed: Pfizer vaccines are available for children 12 and older at CentroMed’s clinic at 5439 Ray Ellison Blvd. A parent or legal guardian must accompany children and give consent. Walkins are welcome. To make an appointment, call 210-334-3820 or go to www.centromed sa.com.
CVS: Most area CVS pharmacies have walk-in access. Sameday appointments are available at CVS.com or 800-746-7287.
H-E-B: Check availability and book appointments at vaccine .heb.com. All H-E-B pharmacies welcome walk-ins from 9 a.m. to closing time weekdays. Weekend walk-in hours vary. Children as young as 12 may receive the Pfizer vaccine.
San Antonio Military Health System: Brooke Army Medical Center and Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center offer the Pfizer vaccine to all beneficiaries 12 and older. Same-day vaccine appointments are available at www.tricareonline.com or call 210-916-9900 or 800-443-2262, option 8, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. BAMC also welcomes walk-ins on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. WHASC allows civilians who aren’t Tricare beneficiaries to walk in without appointments on Wednesdays, 8 a.m. to noon.
South Texas Veterans Health Care System: Veterans, their families, their caregivers and all Department of Veterans Affairs employees can walk in without appointments and get vaccinated at Building 5 at the Audie L. Murphy VA Medical Center, 7400 Merton Minter, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. J&J vaccines available for appointments and walk-ins at the following VA clinics — Balcones Heights, North Central Federal Clinic, South Bexar, North Bexar and Shavano Park. If an appointment is preferred, contact the VA’s scheduling center at 210949-9702.
University Health: Walk-ins are welcome at the vaccine clinic at Wonderland of the Americas mall, 4522 Fredericksburg Road, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays through July 2. Children 12 and older can get the Pfizer vaccine. Until June 22, those 18 and older have the option of the J&J vaccine. Walk-ins 12 and up also can get the Pfizer vaccine at the Robert B. Green campus, 903 W. Martin St., 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays only. An adult family member or guardian must accompany minors and provide written consent. Call 210-644-1960 for information.
Walgreens: A total of 35 local Walgreens pharmacies will extend hours for walk-in vaccinations Fridays in June. A list of locations and times is at Walgreens’ online store locator .A parent or legal guardian must accompany and complete registration for minors. Same-day appointments available at walgreens.com/schedule vaccine or by calling 800-Walgreens, where English- and Spanish-speaking schedulers are available.
Walmart, Sam’s Club: Walkins accepted at all Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies. Appointments also can be scheduled online at walmart.com/ COVIDvaccine and at sams club.com/COVID.
