Nemechek wins NASCAR Trucks race
John Hunter Nemechek claimed his second consecutive NASCAR Truck Series race Saturday, winning at Fort Worth in the No. 4 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports.
Nemechek led the final 22 laps, finishing more than 3.3 seconds ahead of reigning Cup champion Chase Elliott.
Elliott led 45 laps to take second in his first truck race at the 1 ½-mile, highbanked Texas track where Sunday night he will try to win his second consecutive All-Star race.
Cup driver Ross Chastain was third, followed by Grant Enfinger.
Ericsson scores first IndyCar win: Marcus Ericsson raced to his first IndyCar victory Saturday at Belle Isle Park in Detroit.
It was the first win for Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 8 car since 1994.
PRO BASEBALL Missions erupt to rout Midland
Held hitless for five innings by Midland’s Jared
Koenig, the Missions broke out for six runs in the sixth inning en route to a 13-3 victory over the RockHounds on Friday night at Wolff Stadium.
Juan Fernandez contributed a home run and a triple to go with three RBIs for San Antonio.
Eguy Rosario homered and drove in three runs to help support the Missions’ 13-hit attack against the RockHounds.
