1. Holiday
The Lights of Esperanza celebration turns the Texas A&MSan Antonio campus into a winter wonderland with more than 30,000 lights. The event includes music, snow, food trucks, a laser light show and a screening of “The Polar Express.”

2. Club show
Former Girl in a Coma front woman Nina Diaz kicks off a weekly December residency at the 502 Bar. Diaz, whose solo album “The Beat Is Dead” came out about five years ago, resurfaced recently with “No Action,” the propulsive leadoff track on “Spanish Model,” a revamp of Elvis Costello & the Attractions’ album “This Year’s Model.”

3. Stage
Jaston Williams returns with the latest version of “Blood and Holly,” his holiday solo show. The title refers to the way his family thought of the holiday because it turned his mother into a terror, one of the things covered in the collection of monologues.

4. Dance
Ballet San Antonio is presenting its annual staging of “The Nutcracker,” with front-line workers playing Mother Ginger and more than 100 little ones dancing in various roles.
