MARY A. MARTINEZ

April 29, 1940 - November 13, 2021

-

Mary Martinez, a native of San Antonio went home to the Lord surrounded by her family at home as she passed away peacefully of natural causes. Mary is survived by her husband of 52 years, Daniel Q. Martinez, sister Esperanza Dominguez and was preceded in death by her son Sef Romero. She is survived by her daughters Kathie Romero, Mary Ramos, Melissa Schlenker (Rick) Andrea Macias, (Michael) her four grandchildren, Phanessa Romero (Nate Gasser), Sabrina Romero, Javier and Gabrielle Macias, and three great grandchildren, Brandon and Logan Schmidt and Toriee Boisjolie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be loved and remembered for her generosity and caring way of always serving others. For over 50 years, she delighted her customers as she served them as a waitress at many San Antonio restaurants including Casa Rio, Karam’s, Jimenez, Ninfa’s and Las Palapas. She was devoted to her family and she worked tirelessly to ensure all of her children went to the best private Catholic Schools. She would always remind her children that a good education was the one thing that no one could take away from them. Later in life, she enjoyed traveling with her family on vacations to Hawaii, Mexico, Paris, London, and Spain.

The family would like to thank Crest Hospice care and the wonderful registered nurse Tia that provided comfort and care during her last days. Mary will always be loved, never forgotten, and will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
