Time to let your Fiesta medal shine
Fiesta kicks off earlier than usual this year, which means we get to crown the best Fiesta medals even sooner. That’s right — it’s time for the 2022 Express-News Fiesta Medals Contest.
Once again we invite everyone to submit their most regal and raucous Fiesta medals for us to showcase. That means all the bling, from official wares of King Antonio, El Rey Feo and other Fiesta royals and nonprofits to the outrageous whatnots of area businesses and the general public.
We’ll highlight the hottest medals in the pages of S.A. Life and online March 31.
The rules
1.
The Express-News Fiesta Medals Contest is open to nonprofit groups and agencies, foundations, schools, universities and clubs. Official Fiesta royals may enter, too, as can businesses and individuals who just love Fiesta.
2. Only manufactured and mass-produced medals for Fiesta 2022 are allowed. No handmade medals.
3. Entries will be judged on design, originality and production quality. Judges do not consider how much the medal costs or if it’s given away.
4. Entries will not be returned. Medals will be auctioned off and the proceeds donated to a
local journalism group.
How to submit
1. Take a color photo of your medal (no illustrations) on a white background and email it with your name, the name of your medal and your daytime phone number to rguzman@ express-news.net.
2. Fill out the short online form at expressnews.com/ fiestamedals2022. Print the form and mail it with your medal to San Antonio Express-News, Fiesta Medals Contest, c/o René Guzman, P.O. Box 6304, San Antonio, TX 78209. Entries must be postmarked by March 23.
