LAWRENCE JOHN BOULT

October 20, 1948 - March 6, 2022

-

Larry went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the age of 73 with his wife, Lynn, by his side.

Born in Flint, Michigan, he graduated from Northwestern High School and Ferris State College. He and his good friend, Ed Wilson, joined the Army Reserves, and although Larry had to leave when he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 21, he was proud to have served. Always the entrepreneur, Larry opened his own salvage yard business and the Michigan winters quickly drove him and his family to sunny San Antonio where he and Ed again joined forces and owned and operated Southside Auto Parts for the past 44 years.

Larry loved traveling and was blessed to visit many places within the United States, Canada, Guatemala and Mexico. He especially enjoyed cruising and visiting dear friends and family. When not working or traveling, Larry loved anything to do with classic cars, 60’s music, eating at his favorite haunts (Mah-ga-RRI-tas!), playing and watching basketball (Go, Spurs, go!), cheering for the Cowboys, dominating Monopoly, swimming in his pool, calling friends and family from his “office” (aka - his hot tub) and relaxing at home.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Margaret Boult; his uncles, Morey Trevelyan and Hazen Edge; and several beloved pets.

Larry is survived by his wife Lynn of 52 years; daughter Deana Ratnala and husband Ravi; son Tony Boult and wife Dawn; sister Merle Gooch and husband Doug; twin sister Laurie McKay and husband Greg; cousins Gerry Edge and wife Andre and Dick Trevelyan and wife Jenni; nephew and nieces Doug Gooch and wife Shirlene, Kelly Carter and husband Shaun and Tara Nickerson. Larry is also survived by many treasured friends, family members and his sweet cat, Annie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry’s memory to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or the Animal Defense League of Texas would be appreciated.
