This is where I would like to highlight the people in my life who have impacted my journey tremendously.

I would like to share a special thanks and the greatest love to my grandma, Hazel. She has taken care of me since my mother’s passing and has worked day in and day out to offer me the best life possible. No matter how tired she was, she did all she could to provide me with everything I needed. I think back to when she would get up at six in the morning, when it was still dark and cold out, just to take me to school for my college classes. She has sacrificed so much and will always be an inspiration to me.

The one person I turned to for anything has sacrificed so much and will always be an inspiration to me.

The one person I turned to for anything when I needed it, particularly advice, is my oldest brother, Dominic. He has done so much for me. My brother has provided me with encouragement when I couldn’t find it in myself, and has also helped me to figure out my life. Deciding where to go to nursing school was so difficult! With my brother’s guidance, I finally settled on the University of the Incarnate Word, and he helped me feel truly content with my decision. My brother has been a true role model in my eyes and will always be someone that I look up to. has been a true role model in my eyes and will always be someone that I look up to.

Not a day goes by where I don’t look back with gratitude on all the family members who have influenced my life. You all will forever hold a special place in my heart.

I also want to recognize my friends and boyfriend who were there for me when I needed time to relax and have fun. They always lifted me up when I was down and are the greatest people. I have created abundant memories with them through the years, and hope that in the future we can create many more.

As for all the teachers and administrators I have encountered throughout my education, every single one has made me into a better person. To my teachers at Loma Park Elementary, Gus Garcia Middle School, and Memorial High School, your kindness, persistence, and belief in me, have reflected positively upon my life. There are so many people to mention, but I would like to say a special thank you to the Dream Center, led by Mrs. Casas and Mrs. Banks. They offered me a safe place where I could spend hours at a time working on difficult scholarship essays. Without them I wouldn’t be able to ease the financial burden of college on my family. Without them I wouldn’t be able to ease the financial burden of college on my family. Because of their help, I will be attending a private university without having to worry about money. I’m excited to embark on this new chapter of my life, and I have them to thank.

For those who are in the audience tonight, those here to congratulate all of us, thank you. It means the world to know that there are others out there who see all the hard work, dedication, and time that it has taken to make our graduation a reality. You all have been on this journey with us and will now see it come to pass.

Seniors, you have been a part of my journey too. I am proud of you for being here today and reaching such a crucial step in your life. Seniors, you have been a part of my journey too. We don’t know what we will face in the future. However, I do know that we can overcome anything if we work towards our goals and lean on the support of others. Class of 2023, I wish you all nothing but the best in what life has to offer. Congratulations my fellow graduates and goooo Minutemen!

Thank you.
