Ruben Orosco
Ruben Gonzales Orosco, 90, of San Antonio, passed away on
Saturday, July 8. Born to Genoveva Gonzales and Trinidad Orosco Sr. on Nov. 13, 1932, in Floresville, Texas, Ruben was raised on a farm in Poth, Texas by his Aunt Maria and a vast group of
doting aunts. Ruben enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 15, 1953, and served two years before being honorably discharged. As a tank driver and Squad Leader, Ruben served not only in Active Duty Army, but also Army Reserves and the National Guard. After returning to civilian life, Ruben served as a dedicated bus driver

for 38 years before his retirement from Kerrville Bus Company on Feb.
17, 1994.
He met Lucinda Trigo at a volleyball game in Poth, and they married on January 27, 1957 in Nixon, Texas and had two daughters, Cynthia and
Christina.
He was known for being passionate about his family and could rarely walk through a local café without having hands to shake and smiles to greet. If you knew him, it is very likely you have a trinket from his garage workshop hanging on a wall at home or in a tree
in your backyard. He is preceded in death by his father, Trinidad Sr.; his mother, Genoveva, who died while giving birth to Ruben; his Aunt Maria, who raised him as her own; his brother, Mario;
and his twin brother
Trinidad Jr.
Ruben is survived by his wife, Lucinda; daughter, Cynthia, and
her husband, Chris; daughter, Christina, and her husband, Randy; grandchildren, Ruben, Corey, Richard, Madi, Mickey and Genevieve; and two great-grandchildren, Phoenix and Archer, along with a host of other family members and dear
friends. Pallbearers are Cynthia Montalbo, Christina Kelly, Corey Franco, Madi Montalbo, Richard Montalbo, Mickey Kelly, Genevieve Kelly and Joseph Elizondo. Ruben Franco will serve as an honorary
pallbearer. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. on July 26 in the Main Chapel at Mission Park
Funeral Chapels South, 1700 S.E. Military Drive, San Antonio, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held at noon on July 27 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, with Deacon Mechler officiating. Interment will be held at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston, 1520 Harry
Wurzbach. Flowers can be sent to Mission Park Funeral Chapels South, 1700 S.E. Military Drive or In lieu of
flowers, donations can be made to Fisher House Foundation fisherhouse.
