The team will see the return of three top scorers, including Damarion Dennis, who averaged 14.1 points per game.
They’re expected to face stiff competition for the District 26-5A title from Boerne Champion, boasting three returning starters, and Wagner, with two starters coming back. Alamo Heights secured a 14-1 district record and reached the regional quarterfinals, only to
be halted by Boerne Champion. The battle for District 27-5A will likely come down to Alamo Heights and Jefferson, who will bring back all five starters. Jefferson’s Mario Perez is anticipated as a contender for the district’s MVP accolade.

Outlook: Boerne, despite its Class 4A state semifinal appearances for three consecutive seasons, will begin this season without any returning starters. Somerset, who lost to Boerne in the regional semifinals, has seven returning players from last year’s team.
Poth, equipped with three returning starters, and Lytle appear poised for an extended playoff journey. Cole, having reached the Class 3A region quarterfinals, looks to seniors James Livingston and Kenny Atunrase to help lift it back to the state tournament.

TMI welcomes back starting guard Ojani Bowen and forward Ryan Erdos, pivotal in leading the Panthers to a TAPPS 5A championship victory. This marks the second consecutive year the Panthers reached the state title game.
