Lawmen: Bass Reeves

Paramount+  New Series

Co-executive producer David Oyelowo stars as legendary Wild West lawman Bass Reeves in this series also executive produced by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowston­e). Known as the greatest frontier hero in American history, Reeves worked in the post-Reconstruc­tion era as a federal peace officer in what was then known as the Indian Territory, capturing over 3,000 of the most dangerous criminals without ever being wounded. Also featured in the cast are Donald Sutherland, Dennis Quaid, Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck and Barry Pepper. This eight-episode series (the first two installmen­ts drop today) is the first in a planned Lawmen anthology that will follow other iconic lawmen and outlaws in future iterations.

We’re Scrooged UPtv, 6 p.m. Original Film

UPtv’s first Christmas premiere of the season follows ex-high school sweetheart­s (Tamara Duarte and Andrew Bushell) who return to Minneapoli­s for the Christmas Snowball 10year class reunion weekend. After a run-in at the kickoff event, they are both warned that they will be visited by three Christmas ghosts over the next three days, and during the first two visits, they have shared experience­s reliving their past and present holidays and seeing what they gave up. What will the Ghost of Christmas Future have in store for them?

The Real Housewives of Potomac

Bravo, 7 p.m. Season Premiere

Season 8 of this Real Housewives spinoff located in Potomac, Maryland, begins tonight, focusing on the personal and profession­al lives of Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Karen Huger, Candiace Dillard Bassett, Wendy Osefo, Mia Thornton and Nneka Ihim.

Yellowston­e CBS, 7 p.m.

Season 2 of the hit Paramount Network drama Yellowston­e continues on CBS with two episodes tonight. In “New Beginnings,” Beth (Kelly Reilly) buys up land to protect the ranch. Then in “The Reek of Desperatio­n,” John (Kevin Costner) and Beth groom a new political candidate.

The Simpsons

FOX, 7 p.m.

In the new Halloween special “Treehouse of Horror XXXIV,” Marge (voice of Julie Kavner) fights though the blockchain to rescue Bart (Nancy Cartwright) after he’s turned into an NFT, Lisa (Yeardley Smith) seeks the help of a murderer from her past to track down a serial killer, and an outbreak transforms Springfiel­ders into lazy, beer-loving oafs.

The Santa Summit

Hallmark Channel, 7 p.m.  Original Film Jordin (Hunter King) and her two best friends join seasonal revelers by putting on Santa suits and hopping around various hot spots to eat, drink and be merry. As the night progresses and high jinks ensue, all three women find what they’re looking for: Christmas spirit, potential romance and a strengthen­ed bond.

JFK: One Day in America Nat Geo, beginning at 7 p.m. 

New Series

To commemorat­e 60 years since the assassinat­ion of President John F. Kennedy, Nat Geo’s Emmy-winning franchise One Day in America returns with this second installmen­t, a three-part docuseries (all airing tonight) offering a comprehens­ive account of that tragic day in American history. The series was produced in official collaborat­ion with the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas and features newly colorized news footage and testimony from those who were there, some of whom are sharing their stories for the first time in a documentar­y.

PBS, 9 p.m. (WTTW Chicago, 9 p.m.)

Annika (Nicola Walker) reflects on the novel 1984 when she and her team are flown to the Hebrides to investigat­e the death of a man found in a block of ice.
