Turner scores 19 points to lead Texas State past UTSA

SAN MARCOS— Christian Turner had 19 points in Texas State's 7262 victory against UTSA on Friday night.

Turner added five rebounds for the Bobcats (2-2). Brandon Love scored 18 points and added 14 rebounds and four blocks. Josh O'Garro was 4-of-8 shooting and 4 of 7 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding six rebounds and three steals.

The Roadrunner­s (1-3) were led in scoring by Christian Tucker, who finished with 16 points. Dre Fuller Jr. added 13 points for UTSA. Chandler Cuthrell also had nine points and 10 rebounds.

NO. 13 TEXAS A&M 74 ORAL ROBERTS 66

Henry Coleman III had 19 points and 10 rebounds, and the Aggies overcame woeful 3-point shooting to beat the Golden Eagles in College Station.

Texas A&M (4-0) finished 2 of 22 (9%) from beyond the arc, but made up for it with 42 points in the paint.

The 6-foot-8 Coleman did his work inside, finishing 7 of 7 from the field and 5 of 6 at the free-throw line. Wade Taylor IV scored 16 points and Tyrece Radford had 11 points for the Aggies.

Caleb Love scored 20 points and keyed a massive first-half run, freshman Motiejus Krivas also had 20 and the Wildcats overpowere­d the Bruins in Tucson, Ariz.

Arizona (4-0) mauled the smaller Belmont (2-2) inside, outscoring them 52-18 in the paint and grabbing 30 more rebounds.

LJ Cryer scored 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers after the Utes had wiped out 14-point lead, and the Cougars held on to reach the Charleston Classic championsh­ip game in Charleston, S.C.

Utah trailed 50-36 in the second half before Gabe Madsen hit three of his eight 3-pointers during a 20-6 run to tie it at 56-all with seven minutes left.

Mark Mitchell scored a career-high 20 points and the Blue Devils rolled past the Bison in Durham, N.C.

Mitchell, a sophomore forward, shot 8 of 13 from the field. He was one of five Duke players with at least one 3-pointer.

Lauren Betts had a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds, and the Bruins pulled away in the fourth quarter to hold off the Tigers at home and avoid the upset bug among the top 10 teams in the AP poll.

Sophomore Flau'jae Johnson scored 17 points and 11 rebounds and junior Annesah Morrow added 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Tigers raced past the Lions in their first game of the season without All-America forward Angel Reese.

Kennedy Paul and Hailey Giaratano led SE Louisiana with 12 points each.

Ta'Niya Latson scored a career-high 35 points, including 17 in the fourth quarter, to rally the Seminoles over the Gators in Gainesvill­e, Fla.

The sophomore was 11of-20 shooting and made all 12 of her free throws in posting her eighth career 30-point game. She made all five of her field-goal attempts and seven free throws in final quarter.

Mackenzie Holmes had 20 points and 10 rebounds for her 21st career doubledoub­le, Sara Scalia scored 22 points and the Hoosiers rolled past the Racers in Bloomingto­n, Ind.

Yarden Garzon and Chloe Moore-McNeil added 14 points each and Lexus Bargesser and Lilly Meister 12 apiece for Indiana (2-1), which shot 54% and made 21 of 28 free throws.
