beloved husband of 64 years, Jack Morgan, who awaited her with open arms. She also joins her cherished mother, Eleanor Nix-Kelly, her esteemed father, Chalmer Nix, and her beloved brother Donald Nix.

Arlene was an accomplished woman who excelled in all that she did. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University with the highest honors in 1976, completing her Bachelor of Science Degree while also raising her two children. After college, she ventured into a career as an Insurance Agent and continued on that path for 34 years. During that time, she earned the highest sales in the San Antonio area on numerous occasions, which was a true testament to her hard work and dedication.

In her free time, Arlene pursued her passions and interests. Arlene started playing the piano at 6 years old and would practice three hours a day.

Her favorite song was ‘Claire De Lune,’ and her children have such fond memories of her playing it when they were growing up. Arlene was a member of the Fiesta City Chorus, and she and her husband Jack enjoyed singing together in the church choir. She was a fervid reader of the Bible, having read it cover to cover 30 times. Arlene also taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of The Voyagers Class. Arlene had a green thumb and found solace in gardening: her backyard was her oasis, full of roses, plumeria, and honeysuckle to name a few.

Arlene and her husband Jack were avid travelers, having explored 18 different countries in Europe. However, their favorite place to visit was Hawaii, which they had the pleasure of experiencing six times and adventuring to four of the islands. Arlene and Jack would always take their HEB bag on their travels so they could take pictures with it and have their local Alamo Heights store hang their photo inside. They loved to show their photos off to family and friends!

Arlene’s faith was an essential part of her life, and she found comfort at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in San

Antonio where she was a devoted member. A memorial service honoring Arlene’s life will be held at St. Matthew’s (TBD). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Arlene’s memory to the charities that were close to her heart and that she supported fervently: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Feeding America.

Arlene was truly a remarkable woman who touched the hearts and lives of many. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, and her legacy will live on through her kindness, love, and unwavering faith. God is truly gaining an angel. May she rest in eternal peace.
