William (Bill) Frederick Dranselka, Jr. was born on Dec. 7, 1940 and passed away on January 23, 2024 at the age of 83. He was born in North Bend, Nebraska to Stella Jane and William Frederick Dranselka and weighed 14 lbs at birth. He is preceded in death by his parents William Frederick and Stella

Jane and 2 sisters, Jo and Twila. He is survived by his wife Dale Herring Dranselka of 51 years, 2 daughters, Katy (Buck) Brockman and Rachel Dranselka and 2 granddaugh­ters, Lily and Zoe. He is also survived by his 2 sister-in-laws, Sarah Herring Roberts and Diane Herring Worley. He was proud of lots of nieces and nephews in Texas and Norfolk, Nebraska. He grew up on a farm in Dodge County, Nebraska . Then moved to Norfolk, Nebraska at 8 years old. He attended Christ Lurtheran School and there he memorized 6 bible verses everyday and read the entire Bible 2 times while there. The choir he was in was required to sing at all funerals. After graduating from Norfolk HS in 1959 and received a scholarshi­p to play football at Norfolk Jr. College. After that he graduated from Kearney State College in 1964 and received an MBA from UTSA in 1977. He taught Accounting at SAC for 25 years. He taught Math, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Trig, Statictics, Physics, Analitical Thinking and Chemistry, in high school for 35 years. Over his long teaching career, he was the football coach, basketball coach, golf coach, snow skiing coach, bike coach, and chess coach. His first teaching job was in Manning, Iowa for 2 years, then in Boxholm, Iowa for 2 years and in South St. Paul, Minnesota for 1 year. Next he taught in Waipahu, Oahu for 3 years. It was in Hawaii where he met a fellow teacher, his future wife, Dale. During these early years of teaching, he was awarded 10 grants during the summer to attend National Science Foundation­s Institutio­ns at South Dakota University , Drake University, University of Idaho, University of Illinois, and the University of

Hawaii. Then he applied to teach in Australia and Dale and Bill were married in Sydney in 1972. After teaching and traveling across Australia for 2 years, they left on a trip around the world, starting with 6 weeks on their own through Southeast Asia, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Okinawa . Then they joined a tour group in Kathmandu, Nepal and traveled overland on a bus with 20 other people from around the world for 75 days ending up in London. They stayed in hotels in all the major cities and would tour around. After the tour, they settled in New Braunfels and later San Antonio where he lived in the same house for 44 years. During the summer and on weekends, he had his own company , Outback Creations, where he would design and build gazebos and decks for customers. He was very creative and loved helping others create outdoor living areas. He also had such good helpers (friends) along the way that helped him with Outback Creations! He also worked with his daughters, Katy and Rachel with their business, Bless Your Heart Giftique. He was so proud of them for graduating from A&M and working so hard to fulfill their dream. He built displays, painted vintage furniture and helped them create many wonderful venues for their successful 24 year old business, Bless Your Heart. He always put his faith in

God first, then his family and he believed that if you were kind and worked hard, you’d have a happy life. RIP, you were loved and will be missed. The Celebratio­n of Life will take place March 4, 2024 at Northeast Bible Church at 19185 FM 2252, Garden Ridge, Texas 78266 at 10am. In lieu of flowers the family would like a donation made to our church, NEBC.
