Austin mural celebrates Spurs’ I-35 Series
The Spurs have big plans for their March 17 game against the Brooklyn Nets in Austin. Big as in a Texas-size mural in the Texas capital with a T-shirt to match.
Behold the wall art of Austin artist Adrian Landon Brooks at Wanderlust Wine Co., an offthe-wall tribute to Spurs fans in Austin.
The mural will remain up in downtown Austin through the remainder of the Spurs' 202324 season. And you bet the Spurs and their NBA G league affiliate Austin Spurs want you to tag 'em in a selfie while in town, as in #SpursGetMoody for that Sunday match against the Nets at Austin's Moody Center.
“Painting this massive Spurs mural, the energy and love from fans was electric,” Brooks said in a press release. “From photo ops to car-window cheers, it was an amazing experience. I'm honored to celebrate this powerful team and its family. Go Spurs!”
The mural highlights the second I-35 Series, in which the Spurs host an opponent roughly 77 miles north of their home court in San Antonio.
Just in time for spring break, a special Spurs Week celebration will include a free pop-up at the Austin mural. Fans can swing by from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday for some DJ jams as well as prizes and photo ops.
