Security breach spurs lockdowns

Fort Sam Houston went on lockdown twice Friday after a security breach was reported on the base.

At 4 a.m., the first lockdown was issued after a car with two occupants crossed the Schofield gate, according to a statement from the base. Security forces pursued the car, but the occupants abandoned the car and fled on foot. The lockdown was called off after several hours.
