Dry your eyes

For all those who were disappointed in the election results, dry your eyes. We ran a noble race for a candidate who brings out the best in us. Beto O’Rourke will be back.

In the meantime, hold the thought that the soul of this country isn’t determined by one election. Rather it lives and breathes each day in the collective will of all of us. We worked to elect a candidate not because he was the best of us, but because he represented the good that is in us all.

We must continue to engage, to remind those who now hold office that a large number of “we the people” will applaud them when they raise our country up and will call them out when their actions diminish us. If we cannot now stand at the helm of this ship, all of us together must be the wind that drives her.
