Sinatra collectibl­es to be sold in auction

More than 200 items belonging to Frank and Barbara Sinatra ranging from movie scripts to jewelry are going up for auction.

Sotheby’s on Monday unveiled the contents of Lady Blue Eyes: Property of Barbara and Frank Sinatra, which will go on the block in a series of auctions in New York in December. Sotheby’s says the items were gathered over the couple’s 22-year marriage and portray their public and private lives.

Barbara Sinatra’s 20-pluscarat diamond engagement ring, which Frank Sinatra presented to her in a glass of champagne, is among the jewelry up for bid.

Copies of scripts include “From Here to Eternity,” for which Sinatra won an Academy Award, and “Ocean’s 11.”

Paintings, signed letters and personal accessorie­s also are available.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center in Rancho Mirage, California.

Amazon to begin airport operation

Amazon says it will open an operation at an Ohio airport that will include daily flights and a package-sorting facility.

Amazon’s statement Monday said the operation to open in 2019 at Wilmington Air Park in southwest Ohio will provide more capacity as the company continues to build out its central air hub at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Internatio­nal Airport. An Amazon spokeswoma­n says the company leases space at existing airports for its Amazon Air planes and for operations that include loading and unloading customer packages to and from planes and trucks and sorting packages based on destinatio­n.

Pilots close to new deal with Frontier

Frontier Airlines pilots could be close to reaching a new contract after over two years of talks.

The union representi­ng pilots for the Denver-based discount carrier announced Monday it reached an “agreement in principle” on a deal including improvemen­ts to pay, work rules and benefits.

Frontier pilots have been working under a contract negotiated while their airline was in bankruptcy.

Pilots have picketed in Denver and sent a “strike bus” to cities in the airline’s network over the last year to try to build public awareness for their cause.

MTV now owner of music festival

MTV is expanding its live events business in the U.S. by acquiring the SnowGlobe Music Festival.

The three-day New Year’s Eve festival takes place in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. This year’s lineup includes Above & Beyond, Diplo, Eric Prydz, Rezz and RL Grime headlining among more than 40 artists. SnowGlobe will also showcase extreme winter sports demonstrat­ions.

Terms were not disclosed in Monday’s announceme­nt.

MTV plans to reinvent its New Year’s Eve coverage, connecting SnowGlobe with MTV’s Times Square studio in New York.

IPO set for Japan’s SoftBank subsidiary

Japanese technology company SoftBank Group Corp. will carry out an initial public offering of its Japanese mobile subsidiary, set for Dec. 19.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange approved the listing of 1.6 billion shares of SoftBank Corp. on Monday, at $13 a share, raising potentiall­y more than $20 billion.

Founded in 1986, initially running software, broadband and fixed-line telecommun­ications businesses, the company has expanded to become one of Japan’s top mobile service providers.

Facebook goes down for some of its users

Facebook Inc.’s website went down temporaril­y for some users on Monday, showing an error message. Users reported issues with connectivi­ty in posts across other networks including Twitter.

A company spokespers­on told Bloomberg: “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook. We’re working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

Athenaheal­th to go private for $5.7B

A prominent athenahela­th investor and a private equity firm will spend about $5.7 billion on the medical billing software maker and take it private.

Veritas Capital and Evergreen Coast Capital said Monday they’ll pair athenaheal­th with a company Veritas bought earlier this year, Virence Health.

Athenaheal­th stock owners will receive $135 in cash per share, a roughly 12 percent premium over the company’s closing price on Friday.

Athenaheal­th, based in Watertown, Mass., makes medical record, revenue cycle and care coordinati­on products and delivers most of it through the cloud.

CEO leaving Coty in makeover at top

The top executive at the New York cosmetics maker Coty is leaving less than a week after revealing that significan­t supply chain problems sapped revenue during the first quarter.

The company said Monday that CEO Camillo Pane, who led the company for two years, resigned for family reasons. Pierre Laubies, who last ran JDE, a beverage company, takes over immediatel­y.

Coty, whose brands include CoverGirl, Max Factor and Hugo Boss, named Peter Harf as chairman Monday. Bart Becht, who was chairman, will remain on the board.

Stifel analyst Mark Astrachan wrote recently that Coty, in addition to near-term supply chain issues, will be wresting with underlying weakness in its consumer beauty unit for the next two to three years.
