A funky harp?
The number of harpists who have made an impact on pop music can probably be counted on one hand. There’s Joanna Newsom and — well, it’s a short list. Yet R&B singer Tulani makes it seem like an almost natural thing while covering James Brown or Etta James, adding harp where piano parts might have been. Her new album “Unscripted” is a funk workout that would earn her a seat on George Clinton’s mothership.
