‘The Conners: O Sister, Where Art Thou?

ABC, 7 p.m.

When Becky (Lecy Goranson) helps Harris (Emma Kenney) keep a secret from Darlene (Sara Gilbert), it opens up a can of worms that causes a rift between the two sisters. Jackie (Laurie Metcalf ) supports Peter (Matthew Broderick) with his Nordic history project, and Dan (John Goodman) reunites with an old friend.

‘NCIS: What Child Is This?’ CBS, 7 p.m.

In the new Christmas-themed episode, the NCIS team’s holiday plans are put on hold when a murder investigat­ion includes the discovery of a newborn baby who has no identifica­tion and no apparent ties to a family.

When Peggy’s (Mary McCormack) successful brother, Tom (guest star Nat Faxon), drops in for Christmas, Mike (Michael Cudlitz) immediatel­y oozes with jealousy. After Tom gives the Clearys an extravagan­t Christmas gift, pride prevents Mike from taking it — putting him at odds with the rest of the family.

‘black-ish: Christmas in Theater Eight’

The Johnsons have a tradition of going to the movies on Christmas but can never agree on what to see. Dre (Anthony Anderson) wants to see an important film about Rosa Parks, but the rest want to see the latest actionpack­ed superhero blockbuste­r. Meanwhile, Junior (Marcus Scribner) becomes embarrasse­d about taking a gap year after he runs into his ex-girlfriend at the theater.

‘FBI: A New Dawn’

In a new episode, Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki) investigat­e the murder of an alt-right provocateu­r who was killed just after giving a speech on a college campus.

‘30 for 30: 42 to 1’ ESPN, 8 p.m.

ESPN’s documentar­y series looks back on one of the most famous upsets in sports history with this retrospect­ive on Buster Douglas’ shocking KO win over Mike Tyson in their 1990 boxing match in Tokyo.

‘Darci Lynne: My Hometown Christmas’

NBC, 8 p.m.

“America’s Got Talent” season 12 winner Darci Lynne Farmer celebrates the holidays Oklahoma-style in her first original TV special. The one-hour broadcast is for viewers of all ages and features musical performanc­es and sketches from the young singervent­riloquist, along with her lively puppets. Joining Darci will be celebrity guests like Kristin Chenoweth, Toby Keith, Hunter Hayes, Pentatonix and Lindsey Stirling.

‘Letters From Baghdad’ PBS, 8 p.m.

Hear the story of a true original, Gertrude Bell, sometimes called the female Lawrence of Arabia. Bell was an explorer, spy, archaeolog­ist and diplomat who helped shape the Middle East after World War I, then served as an adviser to Winston Churchill.

‘Splitting Up Together: Messy’

ABC, 8:30 p.m.

After Lena ( Jenna Fischer) and Vlad’s (Costa Ronin) unexpected kiss, things get more complicate­d as they begin their new work partnershi­p while working with a new client. Elsewhere, Martin (Oliver Hudson) is uneasy when he goes to Paige’s (Ali Larter) house for more privacy and gets a glimpse into what a more typical divorced home life is like.

‘The Rookie: Time of Death’ ABC, 9 p.m.

A seemingly routine arrest turns deadly in tonight’s midseason finale for the LAPD’s oldest recruit, decent, determined 40year-old John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), who’s so far relied on his lifetime of experience to avoid using lethal force. “This was an emotional episode to film,” executive producer Alexi Hawley says of the freshman drama’s midseason finale. “Nolan’s biggest challenge is facing the reality of taking a life in the line of duty, both the emotional impact it has on him and the fallout that happens on the job.”

Host Jane Lynch invites viewers home for the holidays in this special edition of the game show. Lynch’s home is completely transforme­d as celebrity guests tackle an array of holiday-themed games, including “Hold My Balls,” “Song Sung Wrong” and “Where Ya Goin’.” Two contestant­s lead teams of three as they all compete for a $25,000 grand prize.
