RALPH HOLGUIN JR.

The patriarch of our family, RALPH HOLGUIN JR., of San Antonio,TX went to his heavenly home at 89 years of age on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

Ralph was born July 31, 1929 to Ralph Sr. and Maria P. Holguin, whom both preceded him in death. July 31, 1929 - January 13, 2019 Ralph graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1946 at the age of 16. His parents signed for him to join the US Air Force and he was stationed in Greenland before returning to San Antonio to work at Kelly AFB in Civil Service. He retired with 33 years of dedicated service.

Ralph married Mary Catherine Meza on May 5, 1951 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church where

he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for several years.

His greatest legacy was his 9 children. Geraldine (Robert) Aranda; Margaret Ramirez; James R. (Donna) Holguin; Rosemary Ramirez; Lucille Alcozer (deceased); Jackie Holguin; Ronnie (Sandy) Holguin; Ralph III (Debra) Holguin; and Katherine Duran. 21 grandchild­ren, 36 great grandchild­ren.

Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Catherine; daughter Lucille Holguin Alcozer; brothers Frank Donald Holguin, Tony Holguin Sr, Gary Holguin. He is survived by sisters, Virginia (Phillip) Keen and Helen (Robert) Herrera, numerous nieces and nephews.

His life-long passion was GOLFING with various accolades including career recorded "3 hole in ones", and making longtime friends in several golf associatio­ns. Our family wants to give special thanks and recognitio­n to our sister Jackie Holguin for the love and dedication of CAREGIVER to our father for the past 14 years.

Ralph was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church since 1960.

A visitation will begin at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 5:00 p.m on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. The funeral procession will depart Alamo Funeral Chapels at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
