Mom, daughter died of gunshot to head

The Bexar County medical examiner’s office has released the causes of death for two of three people found fatally shot at an upscale home in far Northwest Bexar County last week.

Nichol Leila Olsen, 37, a hairstylist, died of a gunshot wound to the head. The medical examiner’s office ruled her death a suicide.

Olsen’s older daughter, Alexa Montez, 16, also died of a gunshot wound to the head. Her death has been ruled a homicide.

The cause of death for a 10year-old child also found shot at the home has not been released because the medical examiner’s office still is trying to positively identify her.

That child is presumed to be Olsen’s younger daughter, London Sophia Bribiescas.

The younger child’s death also was ruled a homicide, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said.

Authorities could not locate any fingerprints to help identify the 10-year-old girl, so they are consulting dental records to make a positive identification, Salazar said.

Olsen and the two children were found fatally shot at the residence where they lived in the 11300 block of Anaqua Springs when the homeowner, who also lived there with them, returned and found them around 9 a.m. Thursday.

That man told investigators he had stayed elsewhere the night before.

Despite the medical examiner’s ruling that Olsen’s death was suicide, Salazar said his office will continue its investigation into the shootings at the home near Leon Springs. He said his agency’s probe won’t be swayed solely by the medical examiner’s findings.

Olsen’s close friend Nicole Baptiste, 35, of San Antonio, said Olsen would not commit suicide and would not harm her children. Baptiste also told the San Antonio Express-News that Olsen was not sad or depressed and never voiced suicidal thoughts.

Many of Olsen’s friends have echoed Baptiste’s comments on social media.

Autopsy reports have not yet been released due to the ongoing investigation.
