Cooking Channel, 8 p.m. Host Brad Miller visits a food truck in Raleigh, N.C., where crowds are going wild for 30 unusual meatball creations. Next, it’s on to Lakewood, Calif., to board a food truck that’s giving locals an authentic taste of Spanish paella. Finally, Brad hits up a husband-and-wifeowned food truck in Los Angeles that has earned a cult following with its complex pho.

Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and Kate (Chrissy Metz) reflect on differing memories of their childhood.

‘Boomerang’

BET, 9 p.m. (new series) Halle Berry and Lena Waithe are executive producers of this half-hour comedy based on the 1992 romantic comedy film starring Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens and Berry. The series follows Bryson (Tequan Richmond), the son of Givens’ character in the movie, and Simone (Tetona Jackson), the daughter of Murphy and Berry’s characters, as they try to step out of their parents’ shadows and make legacies of their own.

‘NCIS: New Orleans: X’

CBS, 9 p.m. (guest star alert)

Fun fact: The Navy has a handful of active-duty entomologi­sts who aid sailors and Marines in treating and preventing insect-borne illnesses, and help with pest control on vessels. LeVar Burton guest-stars in this new episode, in which a Navy entomologi­st and a dangerous virus both disappear after a deadly shooting at a research lab.

Meanwhile, Reynolds ( Jocko Sims) makes the choice to do a costly surgery to determine an elusive diagnosis, and Bloom ( Janet Montgomery) must face her personal demons head-on.

‘Miracle Workers’

TBS, 9:30 p.m. (new series) Simon Rich adapts his book “What in God’s Name” into this funny “heaven-set workplace comedy” that turns the perception of heaven on its head while making the case that humans are worth saving. Heaven Inc. is a company run by a God (Steve Buscemi) who has become disengaged with humanity and is ready to give up on Earth for new pursuits. To prevent the destructio­n of Earth, , two angels (Daniel Radcliffe and Geraldine Viswanatha­n) will need to answer a seemingly impossible prayer: helping two humans fall in love.
