Thomas Friedman’s appeal to the Democratic Party is indeed valid and realistic. The candidates, in their primary enthusiasm, went too far in health care for undocumented immigrants and decriminalization of illegal entry and such. Hopefully, what the majority of the candidates were alluding to in their invocations was the fact that we do not ask for citizenship papers at the ER, nor do we arrest them there.
