Cheers to National Tequila Day
Deals on that frozen concoction (and lots more) that helps us hang on
Today is National Tequila Day, and San Antonio restaurants and bars are offering specials to celebrate. Here’s a rundown:
Chuy’s: 18008 U.S. 281 N., 210-545-0300, chuys.com, will offer $1 floaters, $1 off frozen Patrón pineapple margaritas and $5 queso appetizers.
The Hangar: 8203 Broadway, 210-824-2700, thehangarsa.com, will offer three specials from 11 a.m.-2 a.m., including $4 shots of Altos blanco and reposado, $5 house margaritas and $5 Don Julio Silver shots.
Hotel Emma: 136 E. Grayson St. in the Pearl, 210-448-8300, thehotelemma.com, will offer a tequila master class from 6-7 p.m. covering the aging process and differences between blan
co, reposado and añejo tequilas. Attendees will have the chance to taste Hotel Emma's signature tequila Corazón Barrel Select, its La Babia margarita and a number of small bites. Tickets cost $30, and the class is free for hotel guests.
La Gloria: 100 E. Grayson St. in the Pearl, 210-267-9040, chefjohnnyhernandez.com/ restaurants/la-gloria-pearl, will have $6 Herradura double barrel añejo shots, $6 house margaritas, $7 Herradura double barrel reposado margaritas and $7 palomas with El Jimador reposado. Specials are available from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and the restaurant will have a tequila specialist available from 6:308:30 p.m.
La Panadería: 301 E. Houston St., 210-592-6264 and 8305 Broadway, 210-375-6746, lapanaderia.com, will offer tequila-infused pastries during regular business hours at both locations. Pastries include a tequila almond croissant for $4, a tequila tres leches croissant for $5 and a tequila apple croissant for $5.
Sanchos Cocina y Cantina: 628 Jackson St., 210-320-1840, sanchosmx.com, will have $1 off all tequilas and $3.50 shots of Altos silver or reposado or mixed drinks. Specials are available 11 a.m.-2 a.m.
Stout House: 11851 Bandera Road, Suite 119, 210-637-9094, stouthousesa.com, will have shot pours of all its top shelf tequila for $5 each from 2 p.m.-2 a.m.
