Burkle planning new downtown spot

A new project called Bunz at the Savoy is in the works for the Savoy Building downtown, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The filing lists Thierry Burkle as the owner, with $200,000 worth of renovation work set to begin Aug. 20 and conclude Dec. 20. Burkle is the chef at The Grill at Leon Springs and ran the late San Antonio French stronghold L’Etoile.

The 3,435-square-foot corner space at East Houston and Soledad streets sits across from the Embassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk Downtown

No further details were available, and Burkle couldn’t be reached for comment.
