Esquire Tavern loses its chef
Chef Brooke Smith, who’s led The Esquire Tavern’s kitchen to strong reviews since 2011, has left her position at the 86-yearold saloon.
The departure comes after a 2 ½-star ExpressNews review last year that praised Smith for turning The Esquire into “a symbiotic experience: inventive bar food in the saloon upstairs, charcuterie plates and oysters in the elegant speakeasy downstairs.”
