Hit-and-run driver sought

San Antonio police are searching for a driver that they said struck a pedestrian last week on the far West Side.

The hit-and-run occurred around 9 p.m. Friday in the 10300 block of Culebra Road, not far from Loop 1604.

According to police, the pedestrian was crossing the street when he or she was struck by a gray sedan that was traveling in the northbound lanes.

Police said the sedan slowed down momentaril­y after the incident but ultimately failed to stop and render aid.

Officials said the sedan sustained damage to the front left quarter panel and the windshield following the crash.

Tips that lead to an arrest could earn up to $5,000. a 2011 Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a female passenger at around 2:30 a.m. northbound on Interstate 35 when officials said the accident occurred.

Police said Silva was attempting to merge onto the interchang­e ramp to Interstate 10 East when he lost control of the motorcycle.

Silva was not wearing a helmet when he slid into the guard rail, officials said. He was pronounced dead on arrival just before 3 a.m. by the San Antonio Fire Department.

The female passenger was wearing a helmet and was discovered about 30 yards away from the site of the crash, police said. She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in stable condition.
