COLLEGE STATION — With the early signing period starting today, Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher reached back to his old home state for the Aggies’ 22nd pledge in the class of 2020.

Four-star junior-college cornerback Brian George of Belle Glade, Fla., announced his intent to play for A&M on Tuesday via social media. The junior played his first two seasons at Highland (Kan.) Community College, where he was a second-team junior college All-American this season as a sophomore.

Among the 22 verbal pledges in the class of 2020, Fisher has received commitments from five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, three receivers, four defensive backs, two running backs, two linebackers, a quarterback and a tight end.

The highest-rated among the group is five-star receiver Demond Demas of Tomball. He’s followed by 12 four-star pledges, including George. Fisher has said he intends to sign 25 prospects this year, so that leaves three more spots available.

The Aggies, with Fisher at the end of his second season, anticipate reeling in a second consecutive top-five class. Last year, they finished fourth nationally in Fisher’s first full year of recruiting in College Station. A day before the early signing period, A&M ranks fifth nationally behind Alabama, Clemson, LSU and
