A fight between a mother and her son over damage to a vehicle led to an arrest in a fatal hit-andrun in the Northeast Side, according to an arrest affidavit.

Christopher Thomas Norton, 35, was charged Tuesday with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death in connection with the hit-and-run incident. His bail was set at $40,000.

On Monday, a black Isuzu collided with a Kawasaki motorcycle driven by 48-year-old Phillip Warren Snow III on O’connor Road near Larkdale Drive.

According to the affidavit, witnesses said the Isuzu was being driven erratically as it headed southbound on O’connor. The Isuzu then entered the left turnonly lane before violating Snow’s right of way, San Antonio police said Tuesday.

Snow, who was wearing a helmet, crashed into the passenger side of the SUV and flew off his motorcycle. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The driver of the Isuzu fled the scene of the accident, police said.

On Tuesday, Castle Hills police were called to the 100 block of South Gardenview for a verbal disturbance between Norton and his mother. The two had been arguing about damage to the Isuzu, the affidavit said.

Police found the Isuzu in Norton’s mother’s garage with significant passenger side damage, which someone attempted to cover with black tape, the affidavit said. Investigators also found orange and blue paint under the tape, consistent with the Kawasaki’s paint job, the affidavit continued.

Norton learned from a Google search that Snow had died in the accident, the affidavit said.
