MANUELA VILLARREAL RIVERA

Manuela Villarreal Rivera of San Antonio, Texas, a very loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the age of 92 years.

Manuela was born in Los Saenz, Vallecillo, Nuevo León, Mexico on March 25, 1929 to Napoleón V. Villarreal and Dolores Jasso Villarreal. She was the 4th of 13 children.

She completed several years of formal education, was trained as a seamstress, worked with her parents on their family ranch, and helped to raise her siblings. She was united in holy matrimony to Audelio Rivera Sr. of Cuero, Texas on November 8, 1953 and moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1961. She became a United States Citizen in 1979. She worked tirelessly with her husband, Audelio, to raise their six children. Core values that she practiced daily and instilled in her children included: the Catholic faith, family, the importance of education, perseveran­ce, integrity, hard work, dedicated parenting, and generosity.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her six children, daughter Melva M. Nelson and husband Ricky, daughter Leticia Trimble and husband William, son Audelio Rivera, Jr., M.D. and wife Angela, daughter Mary Helen Valadez and husband Jose, son Jesse G. Rivera, J.D., and daughter Diana M. Hess, PH.D. and husband Floyd; grandchild­ren, Robert Trimble, M.D. and wife Katherine, Christina Trimble, Michael Rivera, Katie Marie Keating and husband Stephen, Jessica A. Hess, D.D.S., Austin Rivera and wife Marleigh, Chelsea Melita Farnam, Ashton Bray, Hayley Bray Summers and husband Martel, Jennifer E. Nelson, Anissa Nicole Rivera, R.N., B.S.N., Kimberly A. Trimble, J.D., Parker Rivera, Martha C. Hess, Emily K. Rivera, Jesse Alexander Rivera Jr., and Patrick A. Rivera; great-grandchild­ren Ellie Madison Arredondo, William Bernard Trimble, Eleanor Louise Trimble, Harper June

Keating, Mackston Summers, Elizabeth James Keating, and Howard Carter Trimble.

A Rosary will be recited at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. followed by the Funeral Mass 2:30 P.M. Interment will follow at St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributi­ons be made to St. Benedict Catholic Church 4535 Lord
