Cavender Auto Group teams with UTSA’S Carlos Alvarez College of Business on new immersive leadership program for students
(San Antonio, TX) - Cavender Auto Group and UTSA Carlos Alvarez College of Business have partnered to create an exciting leadership opportunity for seniors at the business school. The new program termed The Cavender Leadership Program is a year long
(two semesters) program designed to teach the intricacies of day-to-day operations along with leadership skills from a team of professionals at one of the nation’s most successful automotive groups. The program will start at the beginning of the Fall 2022 semester for students graduating in Spring 2023.
“We are thrilled to help shape tomorrow’s leaders by presenting The Cavender Leadership Program,” said Rob Cavender with the Cavender Auto Group. “This unique, hands-on immersive opportunity allows seniors to gain valuable experience from an auto industry leader while still completing their studies. The students will be able to leverage the great set of skills they learn during the program beyond graduating.”
Two seniors will be selected each year to participate in the leadership program. The students must commit one academic year to the program and work a minimum of 20 hours per week at $15 an hour. When each student completes both semesters of the program, they will be eligible to receive a $1,000 bonus.

Programs like this are invaluable for our students so they can put their education into practice. We are grateful for Cavender Auto Group for establishing this program for our students.”
To apply, students must be in good academic standing with UTSA and the Alvarez College of Business. Students are also highly encouraged to apply for academic credit for this opportunity. Students should confirm university internship credit requirements with their academic advisor to see if they are eligible.
Completed applications must be submitted on or before May 20, 2022.
