Stolen puppy reunited with her owner

Frida, a 3-month-old pug, has been reunited with her owner after being stolen from her family’s home more than a month ago.

The puppy was found by the city of San Antonio’s animal care services last week while officers were responding to a call about “several animals living in unsanitary conditions,” the department wrote on its Facebook page.

As city staff started removing the pets from the site, a San Antonio Police Department officer recognized Frida from a stolen pet report, believing that the puppy matched the description of a pug taken from a nearby home weeks ago.

Animal care services informed the pug’s owner, identified as Miss O, that the department had found her pet “safe and sound!”

The two were reunited Thursday.

“We are beyond grateful that the SAPD officer immediately recognized Frida and helped our team identify her proper family,” a statement posted by the department read.

“Thankfully, Frida now has a microchip registered to Miss O. Should she ever be found away from home again, a quick scan and microchip lookup will help expedite her return home.”
