Police: Wrong-way driver dies after collision on Loop 410

A woman was killed in a head-on collision early Wednesday on Loop 410 on the Northeast Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

The crash took place just before 3 a.m. between Harry Wurzbach and Nacogdoches Road.

Police believe the woman entered the highway at Starcrest Drive and Loop 410 and that she then drove west in the eastbound lanes. She then collided head-on into a red pickup that was heading east, police said.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been identified.

The pickup driver was taken to a local hospital.
