Texans turn to Allen

HOUSTON — Texans coach Lovie Smith confirmed Friday that Kyle Allen will start at quarterback against the Dolphins on Sunday. The official announcement came two days after Allen took over first-team snaps in practice from Davis Mills.

Smith emphasized that the move isn’t necessarily permanent.

“We’ll give this the best chance against Miami, short-term. Everything’s short-term with where we are” Smith said.
