Gunfire kills man outside pharmacy

San Antonio police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man in the parking lot of a Walgreens pharmacy on the West Side.

Officers after midnight found the man unresponsive early Sunday outside the store in the 4700 block of West Commerce Stree.

The victim, whose name was not released, had an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A relative told police that the victim had given him a ride to the Walgreen’s to use the ATM inside. The relative and other customers inside heard shots and came out to see a black vehicle, possibly a pickup, leave the scene, according to preliminary police
