Are there consequences?

Re: “Condemn racism at game,” Your Turn, Nov. 27:

The situation was at high school basketball game in Marble Falls, where an African American player was taking a free throw. The students in the stands started shouting loud abusive monkey screeches. That young woman will take the hurt and embarrassment those shouts created to her grave.

The real tragedy of the event is that no penalty was called for unsportsmanlike conduct. The game officials knew that was very wrong but did nothing about it. The school superintendent said it was against the school code and was an embarrassment.

What will be the consequences?
