31 days of oscar

TCM, beginning at 7 p.m. After a morning/early afternoon of gangster movies, followed by two true-crime films, Turner Classic Movies’ 31 Days of Oscar event devotes this evening (and much of tomorrow morning) to Academy Award-winning and -nominated titles based on great literary works. The lineup features: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” (1961) — five nomination­s, including Audrey Hepburn for Best Actress, and two wins: Best Music (Henry Mancini) and Best Original Song (“Moon River” by Mancini and Johnny Mercer); “Wuthering Heights” (1939) — eight nomination­s, including

Season 2 of this family drama from New Zealand concludes with “The New Future.” In the aftermath of the earthquake, Issie (Macey Chipping) puts her own life in danger to try to rescue Natasha (Antonia Robinson), while Tom (Kirk Torrance) finally accepts that he has to sign the KP stables over to Ginty (Josephine Davison).

Sam (Rose Mciver) struggles to keep Isaac’s (Brandon Scott Jones) spirits up after she hits a wall trying to publish a biography about him in the new episode “Isaac’s Book.”
